Heading for Merseyside? Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o could be set to sign for Liverpool
Eto’o, 33, who lives in the French capital, has verbally agreed a 12-month deal with Liverpool and is waiting for the green light to jet into Merseyside to seal his move.
Eto’o has been the subject of interest from Everton over the past few days but the prospect of playing in the Champions League is said to have been a key factor in him favouring Liverpool.

One of Eto’o’s main motivations for returning to the Barclays Premier League is to prove Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wrong for calling him an ‘old man’ earlier this year.
In an interview with French TV, Mourinho made off-air comments about Eto’o saying: ‘Eto’o is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?’
The striker later branded Mourinho a ‘fool’.
